1. Description of Service
StoneBase is a desktop application for reviewing and analyzing Go (baduk/weiqi) games. The application runs locally on your device and connects to our license server for subscription validation.
2. Subscription Plans
StoneBase is available in the following tiers:
- Free — Limited to 50 games, single-game AI analysis, and basic features.
- Pro — Unlimited games, batch analysis, position search, duplicate detection, and advanced features.
- Max — All Pro features plus cloud-based KataGo analysis with stronger neural networks.
Feature availability and limits for each plan are described on our pricing page and may be updated from time to time.
3. Account and License
- Each paid subscription includes a license key delivered to the email address provided during purchase.
- Your license may be activated on up to 3 devices simultaneously. You may deactivate a device from the application settings to free a slot.
- License keys are personal and non-transferable. You are responsible for keeping your license key confidential.
4. Payment and Billing
- All payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), acting as our Merchant of Record.
- By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to Paddle's terms of service: paddle.com/legal/terms
- Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually, depending on the plan you choose. Prices are displayed in euros and include applicable taxes.
- Paddle will automatically renew your subscription at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date.
5. Refund Policy
- Refund requests are handled through Paddle in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws.
- If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, you may request a refund within 14 days of the original purchase date by contacting us at contact@gostonebase.com or through Paddle's support.
- After the 14-day period, refunds are granted at our discretion.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Share, resell, sublicense, or distribute your license key to third parties.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the StoneBase application.
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent the license validation system or device activation limits.
- Use StoneBase for any unlawful purpose.
7. Intellectual Property
- StoneBase, including its code, design, logos, and documentation, is the intellectual property of StoneBase and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
- Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the application for personal, non-commercial purposes (or commercial purposes if your plan permits).
- KataGo is an independent open-source project under its own license. StoneBase's integration with KataGo does not grant any additional rights over the KataGo software.
8. Game Data and Privacy
- All game data (SGF files, analysis results, annotations) is stored locally on your device. We do not access, collect, or store your game data.

9. Availability and Updates
- We strive to maintain the availability of the license validation service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
- StoneBase may be updated from time to time with new features, improvements, or bug fixes. We reserve the right to modify the application and its features.
- If we discontinue the license validation service, we will make reasonable efforts to provide an offline activation method.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
StoneBase is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the application will be error-free or uninterrupted.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StoneBase shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Termination
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through Paddle's subscription management portal or by contacting us.
- We may suspend or terminate your license if you violate these Terms.
- Upon termination, your right to use paid features ceases, but you may continue using the Free tier.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Spain.
For consumers within the European Union, this does not affect your rights under mandatory consumer protection legislation in your country of residence.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
